» Bonus Blackjack Review

Microgaming’s Bonus Blackjack carries the majority of the Blackjack’s standard rules but with a betting twist.
This game features a Bonus side that can trigger three additional payouts which odds can be as big as 50:1.
Also, you are not allowed to surrender if you have bad hands in this single-player game.

Bonus Blackjack Features
As far as the game’s graphics is concerned, Bonus Blackjack is not a disappointment. The screen shot gives a perfect view of the virtual table. The vibrant graphics are pleasing to the eyes and there are no flashy animations that can bring distractions to the game play. Interactive buttons pop up when needed and its interface system is easy to navigate.
What sets Bonus Blackjack from other games is its bonus bet. This is an additional side bet to guess what the first two cards will be. If you guess them right, these combinations pay generously. From a maximum bonus bet of $25, aces and jacks pay 25:1 while the ace and jack of spades combo wins 50:1.
Other than that, Bonus Blackjack is patterned after the American style blackjack. The dealer has to hit on a soft 17. As for splitting the cards, you can only re-split up thrice. You can split aces but if you drew a ten or a face card, it counts as 21 and not a Blackjack.
Aces can be split only once and you can only get one more card after it and you have to stand with it. Double Downs can be done on the first two cards first dealt or after a Split. This should equal half of your bet. The right to Double Down is lost once you have a Blackjack.
If you either choose the Split or Double Down, you cannot play for insurance. The insurance option pays 2:1 if the Dealer is carrying a Blackjack, but it is worth nothing if the dealer does not have a Blackjack. Meanwhile, a regular winning hand pays out at 1:1 while hitting the Blackjack pays you 3:2.

How Bonus Blackjack Is Played
Game starts with placing a bet. Bets can range from 1 to 500 USD/GBP/Euro per hand and can be stacked up using the eight virtual chip denominations of the game. This option makes setting an exact bet easy. You can decrease the bet by right-clicking on a bet pile. You may also place a separate bet for the bonus pot and determine whether the first two cards are winning pairs.
After doing so, hit the “Deal” button and your cards and the dealer’s will be handed to you. After which, standard Blackjack options such as Hit, Stand, Split or Double can be chosen by the player. If the dealer has an ace, you may go for the Insurance.
If you win, your winnings will be automatically added. If you lose, your bet will be taken away from you. If you have the same card value as the dealers, your bet will be given back.
