How to Play Blackjack
Playing Blackjack is quite simple and very easy to learn. If you want to play in a casino, online or real-life, the first thing you should know is how to place a bet after you get your chips. Most casinos have a circle on the table in front of all the players where you can place your wager.

Blackjack
After placing your bet on the circle, the dealer deals two cards to you and two to his self. One of the dealer’s card is facing upward while the other one is faced down.
Since you can see the value of one of the dealer’s cards you can estimate what kind of hand he might have. Also, you can use the upturned card in estimating if your hand is better than the dealer’s.
There are several options for you to consider when you’ve started playing Blackjack. Here are your options:
Stand – This option means that you will stay with your current hand and not take any more cards. There are different ways to tell the dealer that you opt to stand: one is to say “stand”, another is to say “stay” and the last is to cross your hand, palm down, over your cards.
Hit – When you take this option it means that you want to take another card from the dealer. You can say “hit” to tell the dealer that you want another card or you can tap the table twice with your index finger and the dealer will know that you want another card. If the game you are playing allows you to pick up your cards you can signal the dealer for a hit by scraping the cards gently on the table towards yourself.
Split – This option is only permitted if you got two cards with the same value. If you get a pair of eights you could split that. If you get a pair of jacks or kings you could also split those. Both of those hands, pair of jacks and kings, are worth 10 points. When you choose to split a blackjack hand then you start with two new blackjack hands. The starting card should have the same value as one of the cards that you had previously. The second card can be a new one dealt by the dealer.
To signal the dealer that you want a split, push a bet forward that is equal to your original bet. You could also separate your cards away from each other, in which the dealer will then deal you a second card for each of the two new hands.
Double Down – If you take this option you get to double your original bet, but you should keep in mind that when you do this you’re required to “hit” and take one more card and then “stand” after that. There are only some casinos that permit players to double down after a split but most of them don’t.
Surrender – If you take this option this means that you forfeit your hand and you get half of your bet back. Unfortunately, surrendering is not permitted in all blackjack casinos.
